Alyssa Drespling
School Administrative Director

Mrs. Drespling came to us in February 2020 with over 15 years of Early Childhood teaching and administration experience. She maintains her current PA state teaching certification, as well as has completed her State Director Certification, and has earned both her Bachelors in Elementary education and her Masters in Curriculum & Instruction with a Reading Specialist emphasis.

Getting to know our Director:

Mrs. Drespling has worked with children and youth since the age of 17, beginning in the church in voluntary teaching roles, then moving to more administrative and leadership mainstream outlets. Such roles include program creation, teaching, choir and musical director, etc, dealing with ages 3-18. She has also worked in early childhood for over 15 years now, and for over a decade in early childhood administration at a state licensed, multi-site facility before joining PHLP.

Mrs. Drespling obtained her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Geneva College, and is currently certified in K-6 in Pa. She then earned her Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction (infant to college age) with a Reading Specialist Emphasis from Grand Canyon University, as well as is earning her Master's plus through continuing education hours. She loves to travel with her husband, family & best friends, and has traveled much of the country. Her sites are set on Europe next!

Alyssa is married to her high school sweetheart Jesse, who owns his own construction company, and currently resides in Ellwood City where they more recently purchased an 1800's farmhouse they are restoring. In her free time she likes to tend her chickens, maintain their gardens and greenhouses, and design specialty cakes for her baking business.

Philosophy for the school:

"We feel privileged that you have chosen our program as part of your lifelong investment into your child’s educational future.  We believe your child will gain a meaningful educational foundation centered around the context of Christian faith and values. Our purpose here at PHLP is to provide a relaxed yet structured learning environment in which your child may develop not only intellectually, but also spiritually, socially, and emotionally, in a well-balanced and individualized atmosphere. Through dedication to the most current learning strategies, as well as an emphasis on a variety of learning styles within each classroom, we promise to encourage each child to develop positive attitudes towards themselves and others, while helping them to feel secure in this first transition into a formal learning setting. We hope that PHLP is the first step in creating life long learners, and set up a true love for learning in each student we have the privilege of working with."
